There are two types of webpage layout, fixed and fluid.
Fixed pages have the contents of the page placed in exact positions, controlled to the pixel. This may sound like a great way to get what you want, but does have one serious drawback - not everyone has the same screen resolution.
Your visitors may see anywhere between 800x600 and 1920x1200 pixels (your screen resolution is ). So how wide do you make your pages?
If you make your pages 800 pixels wide, most visitors will have over a third of their screen empty while they have to scroll up and down to see all your content.
But make your pages too wide and visitors with low screen resolutions could end up having to scroll horizontally, and most people really hate that.
Many web builder applications are only able to create fixed pages, but increasingly web designers are moving to fluid pages to best suit the wide range of possible screen resolutions. We can make fixed pages, but strongly recommend fluid.
